Western Maryland Library Marketing Campaign

Western Maryland Library was looking at new funding opportunities to inspire community engagement, but their brand awareness and marketing strategy needed a refresh. The libraries found in Garrett County, Allegany County, and Washington County, aimed to raise awareness about the diverse range of resources available to the public by adopting innovative marketing strategies and a punchy, modern design, positioning themselves as a vibrant and essential community hub.

Part of the rolling out process was incorporating the new design and direction in expansive ways, from billboards, to tote bags, to digital and print collateral pieces. Western Maryland Library's goal was to be present in big and small ways--raising awareness around their larger community, as well as having fun, branded designs for individuals to take home and use. As such, HighRock incorporated the new designs on items library-goers are likely to use: notebooks and tote bags.

The "Our Library" campaign was born with different versions of of the same ads underscoring the vital importance of Western Maryland's public libraries; if the public invested in them, they would return the favor tenfold. The public library campaign efforts and creative marketing initiatives positively influenced the community's perception of the library so that they are viewed as a dynamic and essential community hub.

In addition to developing attractive large-scale ads, HighRock also developed multiple video ads that complimented the static designs and dug deeper into the resources libraries provide.
